This summer Rich & I decided to take a long weekend and go to visit his family in Pennsylvania. Rich was born in Harrisburg and grew up in Pennsylvania for a large part of his childhood. I have been there before but my most vivid memory is the King of Prussia mall. :) Yes, I categorize places by malls. How else is a girl to remember everywhere she's been?!? I really don't remember being struck by all the open space when I was there before. Years of city living has damaged my mind into thinking that open space is uncommon. I enjoyed snapping random pictures of things you just don't see every day in the city...like tractors, trees, and houses actually on LAND. haha! Rich was making fun of me the whole time!
I also really enjoyed meeting his aunts, uncles, and cousins, many for the first time. We had a great trip!
Grandma & Grandpa Layson, Adam & Roxy, and baby Abby (in Roxy's tummy!) Roxy was sooo sick but they made the drive over to see us!
Wherever I am, chaos is sure to follow...
Awww...we're all smiling...
Ain't we cute...

Rich & me at Hershey Chocolate World. There is a huge sign for Hershey Choc World in the background. The lady who took the picture for us didn't get it in the picture even though we asked her to take our picture in front of the sign.....SMH!!! These things always happen to us! I didn't even think to check!
A house that Rich lived in as a kid
I guess way out in the country you get lonely and you'll talk to anyone who will...drive by? If you click on this pic to enlarge it you will see what I mean!
There's literally nothing behind these houses for miles. It's weeeeeeiiird!!!
I like oooold barns. Maybe because they are red. Or maybe, because they are a novelty. Either way, I like old barns.
Three Mile Island
We drove through miles and miles of roads with nothing to see but trees
Another house that Rich lived in as a kid
Everywhere I looked were barns, valleys, hills & trees.
Seriously who builds a one way bridge. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
It's always good to be home, crashed out on the couch.
We didn't take pictures with everyone while we were there but we did remember to take a few which is better than we normally do! Although we had a GREAT time I was reminded of how much I like living within 5 minutes of the grocery store and mall. :)
